- 200gm Peas, soaked overnight
- 1 Medium Sized Potato
- 1 Medium Sized Onion, thinly sliced onions
- 1 Tspn Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 Medium Tomato, pureed
- 1 Tspn Cumin Seeds
- 1” Cinammon
- 1 Tspn Garam Masala
- In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds and cinammon. As they crackle, add onions. Saute till they caramelize.
- Add ginger garlic paste. After raw smell disappears, add the tomato puree with turmeric and salt as per taste.
- When the oil starts leaving the masala mix, transfer the contents into a pressure cooker. Add the pre-soaked and washed peas along with potato (cut into halves). Add enough water to cover the contents.
- Cover the lid and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. If after opening, the peas are still hard give it another whistle.
- Add garam masala and chilli powder. Simmer till desired consistency is obtained.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. A sprinkle of finely chopped raw onions just before serving, does wonders to the taste.
- And, now it’s time to relish !!
