Garlic and olive oil on a bread slice - Garlic Bread !
Believed to have been first prepared by the Italians, the traditional recipe actually calls only for rubbing a garlic clove on the toasted bread, followed by a drizzle of olive oil. It is said that in those times the actual reason for doing so was to camouflage any sort of distaste present in the bread. Ha ! We sure have come a long way since then.
Today, there are quite a number of variations and perhaps the most famous one being the cheesy ones :D.
INGREDIENTS
Cut the baguette through the centre.
Spread the garlic-parsley blend.
Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese, salt, freshly ground pepper, chilly flakes and a drizzle of olive oil.
Toss into a pre-heated oven at 200C.
Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese starts bubbling.
And, dig in :D !!
