A simple and easy, yet delectable dish sraight from Italy !!
Bruschetta is a toasted bread with a coat of garlic and drizzle of olive oil while pomodoro refers to tomato. Hence, the name !
INGREDIENTS
Chop basil and tomato.
Add shredded cheddar, pepper, salt and olive oil.
Mix well.
Toast the bread slices. Rub each side with garlic (dipped in olive oil).
Place the pomodoro mix.
Crunch, crunch and crunch away the bruschetta !
Tip:
Always use fresh basil and ripe tomatoes. Fresh basil has a significant fragrance while ripe tomatoes are juicy which is very much apt for this dish.
The bread slice should be around 1cm, not more.

- 8- 6 Slices of Bread
- 3-4 Garlic Cloves
- 1-2 Sprigs of Basil
- Freshly ground Pepper, as per taste
- Cheddar Cheese, as per requirement
- Olive Oil
- Salt, as per taste
- Chop tomatoes into small cubes.
- Roughly chop the basil.
- Mix the tomatoes and basil. Add shredded cheese, pepper and salt. Drizzle about a teaspoon of olive oil. Mix well, such that some of the tomato chunks get smashed. Check the seasoning. Keep aside.
- Lightly toast the bread on both sides.
- Pour a teaspoon of olive oil in a container. Dip a garlic clove in the oil and then rub it on the toasted bread (both sides).
- Top it with the pomodoro mix.
- Bruschetta is ready to be served.
- Serve immediately.
