Cabbage Curry


INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Medium Cabbage, shredded
  • 1 Small Potato, cut into small cubes
  • 100gm Green Peas
  • 1 Medium Onion, chopped finely
  • 1 Tbspn Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Medium Tomato, pureed
  • 1” Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Tspn Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Tspn Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 Tspn Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tspn Sugar
  • Salt as per taste

METHOD
  • Heat a pan and add oil. Add cumin seeds and cinnamon. Once the seeds start crackling, add onion.
  • Sauté onion till translucent. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook till raw flavour vanishes. Then add the pureed tomato with sugar, salt and turmeric. Sauté till oil is visible from the sides.
  • Add the shredded cabbage, potato and green peas. Mix well. Cover with a lid. Cook until all the vegetables are well done, which should take approximately 20-30 minutes. Cook on low flame and stir occasionally.
  • Add the garam masala. Mix well and cook for another couple of minutes, before switching off flame.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
