INGREDIENTS:
- 250gm Okra/Bhindi /lady’s Finger, cut into 2” long pieces
- 1 Medium Sized Onion, chopped finely
- 1 Medium Sized Tomato, pureed
- 1 Tbspn Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 Green Chilli, slit length-wise
- 1 tspn Garam masala
- 1 Tspn Sugar
- Heat a pan on medium heat and add oil. Add the bhindi pieces .
- Sprinkle salt and turmeric powder and cook until tender. Keep aside.
- To the now emptied pan, add some oil . When the oil is hot enough, add jeera followed by the finely chopped onions.
- Fry till onions are cooked and then add the ginger garlic paste.
- After raw smell vanishes, add the tomato puree. Sprinkle turmeric powder and salt as per taste. Cook till oil is visible.
- Then add sugar and stir well.
- Add the previously fried bhindi’s to the masala and cook for another couple of minutes or till the bhindi is well mixed with the masala.
- Sprinkle the garam masala and give a final stir.
- Bhindi masala is ready to be served !!
